It’s Chicken Dance Time!
Yesterday we got our first raw logs on the irrigation flow sensor! It might not look too exciting,

but this is The On Ramp! These are timestamped raw logs of our irrigation flow sensor. Tomorrow the well flow sensor will go on line, and the house flow sensor in the next week or so (there are some pipe reorganization things to attend to).
We also have the beginnings of the well-water-column depth reading. We are pulling our pump sometime in the next week and will a) shorten the pump hose (because we are sucking some sand/silt), and b) zip-tie the pressure tube to the pump’s up-hose.
Once we have the 3 flow sensors plus the depth sensor we have all sorts of good things we can do with the data. For instance, well-flow + well-depth tells us 1) how much total water we are using, and b) our well’s depth and recharge rate … in real time! Combined with the logs from our OpenSprinkler irrigation system, we will know exactly how much water each of our circuits uses, plus any deviation from normal means we either have an emitter blockage or a blowout.
